Films & Tapes

PTFE Film Adhesive Tape

An adhesive-backed solid PTFE film for a smooth release face without a fiberglass weave. It follows curved surfaces and forms thin contact covers for rollers, guides and packaging equipment.

  • Solid film backing without woven yarns
  • Gray film options at 0.13, 0.18 and 0.25 mm
  • Black film configurations for specified electrical duties

A smooth wrap for curved contact surfaces

Film tape removes the woven texture associated with coated glass fabric. That helps when the workpiece must travel over a smooth release surface or when a thin wrap must follow a roller contour.

The film backing is flexible and can stretch during application. Install it without excessive tension so it does not pull back, wrinkle or leave a lifted edge after use. An overlap changes the local thickness, so locate the seam deliberately.

Choose the backing around contact pressure

PTFE film suits low-friction contact faces and conformable covers. A reinforced glass tape is often more practical where the cover must resist repeated handling across a broad flat tool.

In a loaded guide or sliding surface, the film is a replaceable contact layer rather than a structural bearing. Keep the substrate smooth and make the edge accessible for replacement. Select adhesive temperature and chemical resistance for the bond line itself.

Equipment & process duties

Applications

Roller wraps

Provide a smooth release face for adhesive-coated webs and packaging materials.

Low-friction patches

Cover local guide surfaces where a thin replaceable film reduces sticking during travel.

Conformable tool covers

Wrap shallow curves and compact tooling without introducing a woven contact texture.

Common Questions

Does this tape contain fiberglass?

No. This range uses solid PTFE film as its backing. PTFE fiberglass adhesive tape is a separate reinforced construction.

Is etched PTFE film already self-adhesive?

No. Etching prepares a PTFE surface for a separate adhesive system. Film adhesive tape already includes a backing adhesive and is selected as a complete tape construction.

Can black film be specified for static-sensitive equipment?

Yes, by selecting the electrical behavior required for the equipment. Specify the resistance range and grounding method; a black appearance alone does not define a static-control grade.
