PTFE Fiberglass Adhesive Tape

A PTFE coated glass fabric with an adhesive backing for fixed release covers. The woven carrier keeps the tape supported across sealing jaws and contact surfaces while the exposed PTFE face releases film and adhesive residue.

  • Reinforced fabric backing for tool coverage
  • 0.13–0.40 mm listed tape options
  • Slit rolls, wide sheets and cut profiles

Listed thickness identifies the selected tape option. Include liner preference, adhesive duty and finished slit width; a stated area or package is not a minimum-order commitment.

Keep the release face fixed to the tool

On a sealing jaw, a shifting cover changes the contact surface and can expose the hot metal. An adhesive-backed fabric cover holds the release layer in position without adding separate clamps across the working face.

Clean and dry the tool surface before applying the tape. Lay the tape down without trapped air or wrinkles, and keep an overlap or seam outside the critical sealing line. Replace a cover once the weave is exposed or the release face becomes damaged.

Fabric support and adhesive duty are separate choices

The fabric thickness influences handling, wear and heat transfer. The adhesive must withstand the actual mounting temperature, cleaning routine and substrate. A PTFE coating does not set the temperature limit of the adhesive bond.

Listed thicknesses are tape-selection options. When replacing an existing cover, send the required finished thickness and identify whether your measurement includes adhesive and liner. This prevents a nominal fabric dimension from becoming a thicker installed layer.

  • For curved surfaces without a woven backing, use PTFE film adhesive tape.
  • For a removable cover held by clamps, use unbacked coated fabric.
  • For static control, specify an electrical resistance target rather than color alone.

Equipment & process duties

Applications

Packaging sealers

Replace the fixed release cover on heat-sealing jaws and sealing bars.

Roller surface covers

Add a low-adhesion contact face to rollers while keeping the tape seam clear of the critical contact path.

Hot-press protection

Protect defined areas of a platen where a secured release patch is more practical than a loose sheet.

Direct answers

Common Questions

How does fiberglass tape differ from PTFE film tape?

Fiberglass tape has a woven reinforcing carrier. Film tape uses a solid PTFE film backing without that weave. Choose the reinforced version for supported flat covers and the film version for smoother, more conformable wraps.

Can I order a width that matches a sealing jaw?

Yes. Specify the tape width, roll length and finished thickness, or send a dimensioned profile for a cut cover. Include fixing clearances and the active sealing area.

Why does an adhesive cover lift even when PTFE tolerates the heat?

The adhesive bond, contamination, trapped air and tool geometry can limit the cover before the PTFE face does. Match the adhesive duty to the actual tool and apply the cover to a clean, dry surface.
